By and large, people often gravitate towards finding the differences in one another. It’s hard to shake that mindset of “us versus them” and it’s become second nature for us to draw these lines, divide ourselves, and exclude one another whether it’s due to race, religion, or down to simple personal likes and dislikes.

We use these isolated categories so much so that these are the first and last things we use as identifiers. They’ve become concrete and definitive.

When we stop, rewind, and think about it, what we tend to forget is that each of these layers of division are in actuality, all artificially conceived. However set in stone some of these things may feel, even the furthest-reaching geographic borders that we think of as naturally established lines were once drawn by people like us.
